Who we are?
We are the Shi’a Ithna-Asheri community of Cambridge, UK. Our aim is to promote, organise, and facilitate a wide range of cultural, educational, and religious Islamic activities, bringing our community together and supporting its spiritual and cultural development. The Community aims at promoting an Islamic environment for its members coming from various backgrounds and age groups, guided by the principles taught by the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his Ahlulbayt (A.S). We also seek to bring together people from diverse ethnic, cultural, and social backgrounds, united by our shared values of God-consciousness, spirituality, Islamic brotherhood, unity, and service to the wider community.
The Community builds upon the longstanding efforts of generations of Shi‘a Ithna-Asheri Muslims in Cambridge. Since before 2000, community members have organised and maintained regular weekly activities, held over the years in members’ homes, hired community centres, and the prayer room of the University of Cambridge.
Activities
Through our activities and initiatives, we aim to build a welcoming, supportive, and spiritually enriching community where everyone can learn, contribute, and grow together. The Community continues to facilitate various programs including:
